The viewfinder point raised by Ian is a good one, and the problem with bright sunlight is a weakness that I found when testing the Pentax, even with the brightness and contrast at max. Screen only seems to be the way most digital compacts are going, so no doubt the boffins are working on this - in the end they'll probably decide to add a viewfinder as a "new feature"!

However, last year I was quite untroubled by bright sunshine!
