Fundraising for Thames Hospice

Dear friends

For the first time in 26 years, a name is missing from the TGO Challenge start list – that name is Alan Sloman. Many Challengers will have read Alan’s blog and will have met him in the hills or putting world to rights with a pint in hand. Walking has always been a huge part of Alan’s life, starting in the Venture Scouts where he gained his Explorer belt, and going on to complete an extra-long LEJOG in 2009, which incorporated the TGO Challenge as well as the Cape Wrath Trail.

Alan passed away in September last year and I would like to invite you all to make a donation to Thames Hospice in his memory. The lovely people at the Hospice gave the most incredibly caring and considerate support to Alan as well as to all his family. Doctors, nurses, carers, cleaners, volunteers – you were all amazing, thank you. Their care was transformative and meant that his last days could be spent in an environment that was as loving, comfortable and dignified as possible.

Thames Hospice desperately needs your support – they rely on donations for 75% for their funding. Please help to make sure they can continue with their priceless work – it means so much to so many people.

Please go to my JustGiving page if you would like to make a donation.

Thank you
