Braemar footpath

Reviewing my route sheet before sending it off for vetting: does anyone know if it's possible to walk into Braemar from the campsite, avoiding the main road - ie by heading west, from the western side of the campsite, over the footbridge that's shown on the 25k map, crossing over to the golf course road?
