Nice site, I don\'t have a Wizard motor but I do have a 1972 Merc 110 9.8 that I bought new. It still runs like a champ. Also have a 54 Evinrude 15 Super Fastwin & a 58 Johnson 18. Love the old motors & boats and the memories they bring back.

I am using this website to understand the complexities of maintaining WIZARD outboard motors, I can pick up a 3.5 hp Wizard tomorrow for $35.00 that is not seized up, but don't want to open a can of worms if they are complex to work on like most vintage MERCURY motors are

I am in position of a Wizard WN7 (S/N 846764) that is looking for a good home. It has a good operational power head and foot. Needs only a water pump. Was given to me ome 15 years ago and I never found the time to fix. Local pick up only.

I just recently totally restored a 1955 Wizard Outboard motor. It is a 12HP, two cylinder, motor. I haven't done much with the lower unit until I can get the motor to run. I've replaced all the gaskets, the piston rings, and spark plugs. The original plugs were Champion J6J. I didn't see these at the store so got a typical small engine spark plug that was the same size. I checked the fire from the coils and there appears to be plenty. I can get it to run about every 10 to 15 pulls on the rope but it doesn't run more than about 20 seconds and it runs pretty rough. I'm not an engine mechanic and not sure where I should begin with adjustments on the carburetor. There is an idle and a running adjustment screw. What would you recommend?

Finally getting around to cleaning up a Wizard WF7 that I've had for many years. It is missing the top (3 screw) and the lower cowl. By any chance do you have those to spare? Cheers, JW in Dixie
