Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

Hi Ray , Your post on the board ( as opposed to threaded ) is out of chronological order ,easily viewed by clicking between the two .
I enjoyed your reply to Jeremey , and am in sympathy with your route rejection/qualify . It is not dissimilar to that which i last submitted and was asked for grid references , even though mine did not involve beer ( beer is good ) a song one of our TGO stalwarts sings with vigour ( alas his name escapes me ) . Did Bert vet your route ? . He did mine and rejected a very ordinary way thru . It is why i feel that John and now Sue/Ali have a very difficult job ,and i am reluctant to reapply . Jeremey has this new word , which really is "barter and has been in use for eons and involves mutual agreement . But ( sorry Humphrey , i but you no buts ) i like your input , but cannot fathom whether or not it involves the Fungal which i think is a route that i have used but forget where .

Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

Maybe Jeremy meant 100 shorter words...?

Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

"Mine is ******* Genius"

There, that's only 4.

Probably not what Jeremy meant.

Oh.. I added the ****

You can add your own word.

Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

West 2 East

Job done! Two words and a number.

Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

Andrew, ours is just two words: tick trail! By the way, it is very good of Jeremy to let us all know his route.

Is it?

If you were hoping to use it as a reliable means of keeping out of my way, I should warn you that in 9 crossings i have never yet reached the East Coast by means of the route written on my card ...

Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

... and is that something to be proud of?..

Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

In a hundred words OR FEWER:

The great apprehension, fun, fine company, great wetness, wonderful solitude, cold wind, soggy ground, grass in my tea, more fun, C&W , even more wetness, old friends, new friends, memories, reflections, sunburn, wet feet, a crap chicken dinner with even crappier fizzy beer, kisses from Sue & Ali....and a very lonely train journey home.

Re: Summarise your route in 100 words or less

Yes, anon - if you're going to raise the question, the answer is that I believe it is.

It shows that when the best laid plans have ganged awry, as they are wont to do, my FWAs have proved sound; and on occasions when things have gone so far awry as to make on-the-hoof improvisation necessary, I have managed to pull it all back together.
