A common theme now I'm afraid. If you don't use it you lose it.
The 'BB' forums feel clunky to new users, very text based. However their strength was always the inherent archive of material easily searched.
Hopefully it can remain, just closed to new activity and so continue to be roamed by your favourite search engines.

The Facebook group , like all similar platforms, has a low signal to noise ratio. i.e. lots of immediately relevant 'fluff' that has little value outside of the moment . trying to search these platforms is often a fools errand. Mind you how many times do you see questions posted on such groups (not specifically the TGO) when the answer is available with a modicum of research.

Of course, assuming "AI" continues in leaps and bounds, search engines will become very different beasts able to cast aside the fluff. I think this may take longer than we expect , not least because of the running costs are orders of magnitude greater than todays search engines.

Unfortunately it won't be possible to archive the contents so if anyone wants to safe some information we suggest you copy it in the next few weeks.
Rolf - I already have your route along the north shore of Loch Monar copied though the photos disappeared a while ago. I seem to remember there was one with arrows showing the route that was very useful. Do you still have it. If so could you email it to us please.

I do not have the photo at hand at the moment, but I'will check at home. I do have the original underlying one though. So i can reconstruct the arrows if needed.

I am one of the few people that do not want to sell my private information to Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp), so I don't use the 'free' Facebook group.
Actually, I do not see any reason why a serious forum for TGO Challenge questions, could not be lonked to the Challenge website.
