Just received a Wizard 10 hp outboard motor beginning to restore. Not sure where to begin. Motor is not locked down.Would appreciate any help.

Did you find the model number and serial number to help identify it? That is step 1. Advice can then follow.

I normally like to start by cleaning the exterior with WD-40.

I also like to drain the lower unit so you can see if water has collected in there.

Next steps usually involve cleaning the carburetor, checking the impeller, and checking the ignition to determine the conditions of the coil.
