any help on using a nother brand coil to replace a phelon coil.

i have a phelon coil in my 1964 wizard it is a scott moter with a phelon condincer points and coils. i want to use a wico or a sierra coil but i am not sure if they will fit. has anyone done this or have any ideas so i can get this old moter running again. please let me no and thanks again for taking the time to read this.

It's probably semantics, but your motor is a McCulloch, not a Scott. McCulloch bought Scott-Atwater in '56 and all motors where labeled McCulloch by 1964.

I believe the original part number for the Phelon coil was FG4128.

Have you tested your coils yet? the coil should test between 40 and 55K ohms.
If it tests good, cracked coils can be covered in epoxy to seal them.
