I'm restoring a Powermatic 12 which my great uncle bought new in 1954. I have the original hang tag that came with the motor. According to the hang tag, the motor came standard with the 9" pitch 3 blade power prop.
The Mercury version of this motor is the Mark 20 but,the Wizard's cubic inches, 18.5 ci are less then the Mark 20, 20 ci. Is this the reason for the power prop being standard on this motor?
I'm pretty sure the Mark 20 came with a 11" pitch 2 blade prop.
I'd appreciate hearing about any experience others have had with the performance of the Powermatic 12.
