Installing new seal using 1/2-20 bolt, nut, washers method. This worked well.


New seal installed.


I also installed a new impeller, but got so caught up in my work, I forgot to take pictures along the way. i didn't feel like tearing it apart again just to get a pic... sorry.

New shims on shaft. This seems to have made a difference in the fwd/aft play. Feels much better now.


Homemade paper gasket for lower unit.


Will be cleaning up new carb and replacing gaskets tomorrow if time permits.


More to come...

Some progress today. Water is pumping well now. Need to read up on adjusting the carb.

In the video above, you'll notice the throttle wasn't very responsive. I tuned the carb this afternoon via the high speed and low speed needles and it's running much better now. Can't wait to get it on the boat.
