wizard 5.0 ?

I just purchased a wizard 5.0 model number esk-6615b97 and was just wondering if this was an air or watter cooled engine also what the oil 2 gas ratio would be 4 the premix this motor also says on the cover full tilt reverse but i cant find any way of putting it in reverse dont know a whole lot about these small outboards any help would be greatly appreciated thanx again

Re: wizard 5.0 ?

Your Wizard was made by Eska, and it is air-cooled with a Tecumseh powerhead. You can use TCW3 mixed at 24:1. It does have an impeller to keep the exhaust housing cool. By full-tilt reverse, it simply means that you can turn the motor around 180 degrees to go in reverse, but as far as the gear shift, it is only forward and neutral.

These motors are the same as the Ted Williams/Gamefishers sold at Sears in the 70s and into the 80s. Not my favorite of motors, but if it runs, have fun with it.
