I am back at work on rebuilding early Kiekhaefer made
K Models....got a Chinese press and have pressed in
twin crankshaft and reed block assembly...I don't
know the trick to getting it right the first time
...must have pressed in and out a dozen times to
get hole in crankcase lined up with threaded hole
in reed block. Discovered I need a sleeve to allow
seal to be pressed into top of crankcase...spent
a couple hours trying to make one the hard way...
if you have more than one or two to rebuild it
does make sense to work up tools...anyway metal
machining is my other hobby. I guess I like an
excuse to carve metal.
