Looking for a replacement propeller for a late 40's/early 50's Wizard Super 5. Model--WH6; Part #--48-228-20.
Motor has been in constant use since purchased new. However, one of the blades has now been broken and I am having a heck of a time finding another one (It's intended as a Christmas gift for the owner, my father.)
Forgive my lack of knowledge, but these parts are indicated for a different model, different horsepower, etc. Are you saying that these propeller are likely to be interchangable with the part I need?
Props for KF5 thru Mark 6A series have
a internal teeth that mesh with the metal and fibre
disc clutch and a splined drive shaft.
K Models use either a shear pin or a rubber element
held between two metal discs...
If your Wizard has the metal and fibre disc on
a splined prop shaft you probably can use the
prop from any KF5 thru Mark6A (part 48-24459)
When disassembling be sure to keep all parts
in order or reassembly may be a challange.
KF3 Models use a different prop (not suitable.)
Prop has to be set to between
140 and 170 INCH POUNDS (foot pounds divided by 12)
Hope this is helpful...buying the wrong parts
can be expensive and frustrating SO verify
and be able to return for full refund.
Mark 5 thru Mark 6A had a trouble prone gearcase
so props should be available and inexpensive.
Wizard WH6 roughly same as Mercury Mark 6
both made by Kiekhaefer (many parts interchange)

Thanks so much for the info. According to the owner's description of how his propeller works, it sounds like the KF5 thru Mark 6A series is a better match. He describes his propeller as having to line up with teeth/groves on the shaft and operates with a clutch, not a shear pin.
Again, thanks for the info (even a part #!) and for the advise.
