1946 Wizard WD-4

Hi,
I just purchased a pretty nice original Wizard WD-4, And someone changed the fuel shut-off valve. I would like to find a correct and original replacement. Any help would be appriciated.

This is what my 1946 WD3 fuel shut-off valve looks like.
Looks like a standard fitting from a plumbing supply to me. the base of the valve is a rounded off square and is made of brass.



My fuel line is copper tubing. Hope this helps.

Tom, I don't know for sure, but this may be what you are looking for. It is labeled as a compression valve.

You maybe able to talk your local Ace Hardware guy into ordering it to see if it is the right one. If it is like the bad drawing, it should be the correct one.

Unfortunately the industry is moving towards the pin style valve handle like this


You might have to age the brass to get it to look old. Here is a link to how to do that:
