Look for a parts motor. Someone selling a more or
less complete parts motor usually is just trying to
free up some space in garage or basement not trying
to squeeze out the last dime. Someone parting out
a motor expects a premium for the effort.
More important a more or less complete motor will
show you how things go together, have all the little
parts,fasteners AND belong to the correct make and
model. I sold a parts motor once to a fellow who
only wanted a couple parts...when he received it
he told me it was better than the one he was trying
to restore (salt water?)...he changed his mind about
which was to restore and which was parts.
I just wanted it gone.
