I’ve been thinking about how certain bands and songs become linked in our memory with very specific images and outfits—like a particular jacket, hairstyle or stage look that instantly brings the music back. In my own case, I even notice this with games and films: I’ve got a leon re9 jacket inspired by the Resident Evil series, and whenever I wear it, it puts me in the mood for darker, atmospheric music the same way a band’s signature look can.
