I've only just arrived back from my holidays in Spain, we were staying at Cabo Roig, a favourite of ours, and needed to be cheered up after having to deal with the post-vacation despondency, so locating your fine site was really the tonic I needed to cheer me up and get back in the swing of things. The holidays in Spain (and Cabo Roig specifically) normally gets the mental energy recharged and help me get ready for another year , the difficulty being that coming back home makes us a little depressed and jaded. Visiting the net for a few quite interesting web sites is usually the answer which means locating your web site was actually a tremendous aid in recovering from the Cabo Roig doldrums. It's always amazing to pinpoint a website which is nicely designed and well laid out, that I considered your one to be in copious amounts we are sure that it's fantastic for you to comprehend when someone has liked their experience also to be aware that your time and energy has not been wasted in designing it. I'm a 1967 graduate and my mother graduated in 1944. Her maiden name was Pauline McCoy. My father was Wilmer J. Van Osdell. I grew up on Mason St. in Monte Sano. Thank you for including "Sidney's Poem" on your website. I am one of Sidney Fazio's (Class of '54) daughters. He passed away the year after the poem was written.

By the way, Coach Broussard (pops) is not doing very well! I live on the family farm in St. Gabriel, LA and raise quarter horses.

As a former Indian footballer, basketballer and trackster, I salute all other Injuns and send my best (Class of 1985 proud). My children will not attend Istrouma for obvious reasons (probably Catholic HS and St. Joseph) but they will know where my heart is. Fight Indians fight!

My husband, Malcolm Vass and I were 1958 graduates. He passed away in 1997. We lived several states away after we left Baton Rouge in 1965 but we always had a tender spot for our home town and Istrouma High School and our classmates. Some of the names in your graduating class are familiar to me, although you moved on the year before we got there as freshmen. It has been a joy to find your web site and I have spent HOURS perusing it and the links, too. Thanks so much for providing this little trip back in time. My heart is full of reminiscences. Dear Graduates of 1954: My mother, Idelle Baker, was a proud graduate of IHS. She died in 1989, and I always remember her great affection for so many of you. Thank you for this website. Seeing her name on the graduation program reminded me just how much I miss her. It matters not how long she has been gone seeing something of her life always gives me great sadness and joy at the same time.

Life at Istrouma was a special gift for all of us. Whoever wrote the words, "We will ever loyal be." must have know something.

Hello fellow IHS graduates. I love your web page.I am from the class of 1960. In November 2000 our ladies organized a monthly luncheon/get-together. We named our group "The Squaws". We average 25-30 each month, and put out a 4 page newsletter. I would love to send it to any of you ladies that are interested. We are publishing a cookbook to be ready in time for the July 7th NBR reunion. Our 45th reunion will be on the 8th and 9th. We would love to get recipes from all of you.
