I am doing family history and I am looking for any information about my grandmother Margaret McLoughlin who was a dementia patient and died at the Winwick Hospital in 1949. Would like to hear back from anyone who knew her.

It\'s nice
For the staff but not for the children of the patients. Maybe it would have been better to have a close site .Not a public one
..the picture of the lady having electric shock treatment. Reminded me of the pain my mother suffered at the hands of the so called professorial people.
My mother was never the same .but nice to see all the staff laughing and joking on there\' night\'s out but you all had some story\'s to tell about the inmates i

I am looking for information about my grandmother, Elizabeth Ellen Hopkins who, I understand, was admitted to Winwick Hospital between 1917 and 1923 and who died there in 1965. I believe that she became maid/housekeeper to the matron. Does anyone have information or memories of her?

I work for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and we have a Historical Society where we operate several vintage fire engines....We also have two hose carts from the hospital fire brigade, both have been restored. I will try to get some photos and post on the site. I remember the fire officer, Tom Spriring who was a Station Officer at Newton previously. He lived in a hospital in Hollins Lane....this would be in the mid 1960s.
