I gave up my daughter in 2003. It was a hard decision but I was already a single mother if 1 and didn't feel I could do it to another child. I found a wonderful christian family close by. Its an open adoption and don't think I could have it any other way. She's 3 now and happier than I could have emagined she would be. She is doing things I could never have given her. I hate not being there like I would like but I do get pics often and visits when were able. I couldn't have chosen anyone better to raise my child. this web site makes me feel like there are people out there that think the world of birthmothers. Thank you so much.

Hi I'm Sherry I am very glad I found your website, my story is a little different than most but I have quickly learned we all have alot in common. I am a birthmom to a 1 yr old little boy and a very prowde mom of 3 other children, a 13yr old son a 11 yr old daughter and a 9 yr old son. I have been very open with my children about there birth brother and we have continueous contact with the adoptive family. We all shed alot of tears together mostly happy tears however I feel really alone and sad sometimes, I'm glad I found your website and very excited to be able to chat online. I am Kiki and I placed my second daughter a year this month. I do get pictures by email and phone calls and email up dates and pictures on cdroom. I even got to leave with the hospital with my baby. So She is almost 13 months next month. So I know how to get hold of them. They know how to get a hold of me. So I knew them for over 20 years. So I still miss her very very much!!! I was going thrue my groups home page and foudn this one. And omg i am so glad i did cause i am meeting one of the potentialfamilies today and i had questions that i didnt know if i should ask. And going thrue this site answered alot that i had and also gave me some new ideas on what to ask, I want to thank you laides for having such a site. i'm very grateful i found this website. i had a boy 1-7-74, and have kept myself registered in ohio, in case he wants to find me. i think it should be his decision. i was young, alone and scared at the time, and went through it all alone like a zombie. i have never regretted giving that start in life. i pray someday he finds me.

I am a birthmother of a 9 yr old son. I am also a mother of a 6 yr old daughter, 5 yr old daughter, 4 yr old son, 2 yr old son, and a 1 yr old daughter. I have been open with my children about their older brother and am now trying to help them deal with their feelings about it. I have been searching the internet for any advice on how to help my children work through any issues they have with the placement of their older brother. I would love to hear from anyone who has any advice or their own experiences to share.
