After reading about the authors' search for the "tiger," I was pleased to see this animal in motion at your site. It's true, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I have followed the plight of the thylacine for years, and unfortunately very little has changed since they were hunted one hundred plus years ago. Today the extant population that has survived faces and even greater danger - the powerful forces of economic greed that is driven by the logging industry. In Tasmania, it has been reported that loggers are trying to thwart recognition of liviing thylacines by poisoning large areas wherever sightings have been reported with the compound 1080, an ominous chemical that kills all native wildlife. Gunns Limited and others seem to have no guilt or environmental conscience with regard to wildlife, because disclosure of "live thylacines" would certainly place restrictions on their logging operations. If it comes down to the survival of the species it is even more tragic what the thylacine is facing. How pathetic and sad!!!!!!

This is wonderful and I hope that in due time, one of the many people dedicated to finding a specimen alive in the wild will be successful.
