Does anyone have information on Ray's fiery accident in the Congdon 77 in July 1960? I didn't go that night and all I know is the following: Apparently, in the warm-ups, Ray came down the back stretch wide open and the accelerator stuck. He hit the wall between turns 3 and 4, the homemade gas tank ruptured and the car caught fire. Dick Watson told me he was one of the first on scene. Ray's clothes were on fire when he bailed out.
