Rick "Sleepy" Knapp passes.

Just letting long-time Waterford fans know that another former competitor has passed. Rick "Sleepy" Knapp who campaigned Late Models & Modifieds at both the Speedbowl & Thompson for over two decades recently died of natural causes. He was in his early-fifties. Known for his signature-red "Sweet 16" entries at Waterford, Rick was also a multiple track champion at Thompson in the Late Models. The uncle of present Waterford competitor Walt Hovey, Rick returned several times to the Speedbowl after his retirement as an active driver to compete in the yearly "Heroes of the Bowl" events that were once held at Waterford in conjunction with the track's "Nostalgia Weekend". He will be missed.
