Unknown faces of Danbury and Riverside

Does anyone remember Mike Genestra..As far as I can remember. was the owner of the #31 modified driven by Lou Tabone Jr. Mike's partner in crime was Don Jensen. Does anyone have any pics or info on either of them?

Re: Unknown faces of Danbury and Riverside

Mike passed away from cancer about 3 years ago. After his car owner days, he was a regualr fixture in the Waterford pits and helped a lot of guys with chassis set ups. I had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a good guy. His lat driver that I know of was Billy Layda at Danbury. He used to help the guy that owned the car Lou Tabone drove, but he didn't own it.

Re:Mike Genesra owener of car #31 Danbury Speedway

I drove for Mike at Danbury and a couple of
races at plainville and Thomson. His mechanic and
car builder when I drove was "Midnite Joe" who was
one of the best in the business and I miss them both.
They both passed away.We had a very good car and I
think if I had'nt quit him we had a good chance to
win the championship that year.We won the Budwiser
midseason championship that year and were vary much
in it.We remained vary good freinds. My wife and I
went to see him at the hospital just befor he died.
When he went home he didn,t last long.It was nice
some one else remembers him.Thank You who ever you are.
