I disagree. Brian was just too talented and had a great start with his brothers. He would have made his music and great songs without Mike Love. He made Don't Worry Baby with Roger Christian in '64 so he would have had great pen pals anyway. No way Brian wouldn't have formed his band even without Mike. Brian wrote great songs/music with Jan Berry as well so there was another possibility. Brian had just too much talent to be overlooked or un recognized.

Mike Love, this man has always been over rated and full of his own self importance. Yes he played a major part in the band and his vocals where good.But without his greed for money we would have heard smile in the way that Brian intended us to hear it. As for pet sounds thank, the lord Brian was able to talk to the rest of the band it is there best album with some of the most quality music ever to be heard.And lets face it he is now draging the good name of the beach boys down into the gutter.WHY because he want's more MONEY greed has always been Mike's driving factor not the music. He doesnt give a toss about the music or the good name of the Beach Boys, so long as he makes money.
