Hi guys,

I got a call today about removing a mystery stain. The client said that on the basement carpet there is a perfectly rectangular yellowish/tan stain, where the previous owner had a workout mat. I'm thinking it might be mold, if the concrete underneath wasn't sealed. They want me to try and remove the stain. Should I just refer it out to be tested for mold?

Can you lift the carpet? it could be simply a mineral stain from the concrete floor itself

Turns out it was a lawsuit issue with buyer/seller. I didn't pursue the issue.
