Can anyone tell me if the Challenger is used for all floor surfaces or just the carpet. And if different pads come with it or are available to buy for the tile and or wood floors.

The Challenger will serve you well on virtually all floor services: carpet & rugs; tile & grout; vinyl tile without grout; natural stone floors; and wood floors. An inexpensive grout brush will let you offer services in tile & grout cleaning. There are special maroon pads, as well as sanding screens allowing you to refinish wood floors; and new, micro-diamond-based pads allowing you to hone and polish marble floors.
