I need to clean a carpet in a home were the owners were smokers. I have some of the odor gone capsules. How would I use this to best remove smoke odor in carpet? Just add to my prespray? Or clean first then go back and spray odorgone on carpet? Almost like I was spraying protector and just let it soak in a remove smell? It is a berber style carpet.

Maybe both, if there is still some odor remaining after the first application.
