Natural Fiber & Fabric Protection

If you are pursuing this business via the all-natural route, you need to be prepared for the customer who wants a fiber protector. Customers usually ask for it as "Scotchgard" (How's that for successful
"positioning"?) To be consistent in the service you are delivering, you ought to be using a natural product instead of a synthetic product. One of the few natural (actually, ultra-low-chem) products of this type in existence is Bioforce's "Carpet Protector".
Go to www.bioforceinc.com, and find it under the
"Enviro-Pro" product group. I believe AFM may also have a comparable product. (Google "AFM" and the word "safe" and the AFM website should show up at or near the top of the results list.)

Re: Natural Fiber & Fabric Protection

Mark,
If a customers carpet comes from a manufacturer who treats it with stain master or some like product, does that carpet really need to be treated with a stain protectant?

I'm not against using products such as you spoke of,just curious and want to have as much correct information as possible.

Re: Natural Fiber & Fabric Protection

What the carpet manufacturer applies is no different from what is applied later when the carpet is cleaned in someone's home or business premises. The original protectant eventually wears off, from cleaning as well as the abrasion of continued walking on it. To keep the level of protection high, protector should be re-applied regularly.
