Stain Questions

What do you guys use for stains. In particular the ink and the red stains-- wine, kool-aid. Are you able to just spray something on them, let them sit, then it all comes out when you go over it with the Challenger?

Thanks much.

Re: Stain Questions

I use red vanish from vac=away awsome product.

Re: Stain Questions

I second the recommendation.

Re: Stain Questions

Thanks. I'll order some and give it a try. I have one that works well but it's "heat activated". I'd really rather not lug around an iron, and I have this feeling that "sooner or later" I'll accidentally fry somebody's carpet and be in trouble...

Do you use anything special for ink?

Re: Stain Questions

Red Vanish can be used without heat. in fact, i've never used it with heat.

for ink, i prefer Cyclone by VacAway.

thanx --- Derek.

Re: Stain Questions

Does anyone have a trick for getting out mustard or hard water stains? Having trouble finding something that works with mustard.

Re: Stain Questions

Sometimes a simple home remedy approach will work for
you. Try an application of a mixture of a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent in a cup of warm water. Apply & agitate with a face cloth. Follow up with a mixture of 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar. An enzyme product as found in pet supply stores has been found to work, as has the use of oxalic acid, which is used for removing rust stains.
