Slow times for Carpet Cleaning

As a new carpet cleaning business I was wondering if there is such a thing as slow times of the year.. What time periods have they traditionally been ?

Re: Slow times for Carpet Cleaning

The warmer months are the better months. The colder months are the slower months. The more commercial work you have as a percentage of your total volume, the less you will feel the effect of the cold months.
Commercial work tends to be less cyclical.

Re: Slow times for Carpet Cleaning

mark d's post on pursuing related business areas is good info to make up for the slow season in carpet cleaning.
something you may want to consider as an additional service for your customers is air duct cleaning.
while i only now do it on a very limited basis, it can be a very good source for additional $$$$$'s.
it was very good for me as i did it for over 20yrs.
if by chance you do consider it, check with the state you live in as you may be required to be HVAC certified.
as your business grows and you develop a sizeable customer base, additional services offered can be very lucrative and fill the income gaps.
