Marketing hotels

What's the best approach to hotels who probrably already have a carpet cleaner doing their carpets? Would anyone recommend doing a room for free for the manager? How much would you charge for a normal room.

Re: Marketing hotels

There are all kinds of hotels. People on c.c. forums
have reported being able to only charge $5 per room;
others have stated that they charge $20. I've charged
between $10 & $20, depending upon size, "class" of
hotel, etc. Sometimes you have to feel out the person
you're having discussions with, as to what they are
willing to budget per standard room, per suite, etc.
A factor beside price that makes a big difference is whether they will set aside, say, 20 rooms all in one area for a day's work, or if they are more likely to call you in to do 4 rooms all over the place. You'll
spend more time schlepping around the place than you will doing the actual work in the room.
Another approach might be to price the individual rooms cheap, and turn that work over to your employee
or helper, conceding all or most of the income from rooms to that person. You do this to ensure that you'll get your profit on the main public areas: hallways; function & prefunction rooms; the ballroom, etc. Of course, this applies to large, multi-
service hotels, and not so much at hotels where there
are just rooms and hallways.
