Interested but have questions

Hi guys.
All of y'all have business with this machine?

I've been to the Challenger-pad-machine site and feel this is for me, but some questions came up I've not seen on this forum.

1. How is the Challenger at getting to the corners of rooms?

2. Does the challenger fit into small cars (such as Honda Civic), or would a vehicle purchase be necessary?

3. Any one of you have history of bad back and still have no problem with the machine?
(66 lbs is not much, but without a back, you aren't lifting anything)

4. What are the typical prep and cleanup times for each job?

5. How long can the machine run before overheating?

Thanks for your time.
I'd appreciate emails directly to help me with these questions (I may have more for you)

Thanks again

Re: Interested but have questions

Hi Shawn
I have also replied to your e-mail.
Re. corners of rooms: obviously, a round machine
won't quite get into a round corner. But only a couple of square inches is left untreated. Since
corners never really receive any traffic, all they
usually need is vacuuming. Occasionally, you might need to dab a damp cloth at anything in a corner
that looks like soil, but I can't remember the last
time I had to do that.

Re. getting a Challenger into a small vehicle:
getting a Challenger into a trunk might be easy
enough unless there is a high lid, instead of the
trunk lid coming down to just above bumper level. With a
small 4-door vehicle, you could probably get it into
the back seat crosswise. Put a blanket or something
down on the upholstery to prevent it from being
damaged.

Re. bad back: no personal experience. My back is
fine despite lifting my Challenger frequently.

Re. prep & cleanup times: This normally goes very
quickly, compared to HWE cleaning. When setting the
appointment, ask customer to please remove "clutter-
type" stuff from the rooms you will be working in.
Vacuum before cleaning, unless this has just been done by the customer or their housecleaning service.
There's not much to do when you are finished except
to coil your electrical cord, and gather any supplies
you have brought in. If the cleaning has left any
little pieces of litter on the carpet, vacuum these
up with your vacuum brush in the "high" position.

Re. overheating. Unlike my Oreck LowBoy orbital
machines, which would shut down within an hour or so
from overheating, I have never had a Challenger
overheat on me, even after hours of continuous use.
Orecks are now collecting dust in my basement.

Re: Interested but have questions

Hi Shawn,
Mark has answered most of your questioins. I started less than a year ago and my biggest concern at that time was my BACK! It has been no problem with the challenger machine.I do use caution when I put it into my car (back seat).
NO problem operating the machine. Very easy to use. It should fit into your car with no problems. The machine has been great in all applications so far and I am about to clean my first VCT and tile & grout this weekend. so I say GO FOR IT. You will not be disappointed with the challenger. Only you know your own back. I think if you take your time to build your confidence loading and unloading the unit It will work out OK.(back straight, bend knees, you know the drill!) But again, only you know how much your back can take.
So good luck
Steve Shimek
