That's a very short stretch of path closure and a ridiculously long suggested detour. The trail organisers are being unnecessarily cautious and the discerning Challenger would find a much better alternative by going over the summits of the Menteith Hills. A path leaves the upper forest road from NN538013 and leads easily to Craig of Monievreckie at NN547020. There's no path over the subsequent tops but the going isn't hard and it would be possible to drop down to rejoin the path beyond the forest operations. Much, much easier and aesthetic than using the cycle route on long meanders through boring trees.
