Exit from Jock's Road to Glen Clova

I should solve my own puzzles, I know.... But I'm stuck on how to go up Jock's Road, up my tally of hills and then find my way down Glen Clova.

TGO Control has let us know that the northerly paths are not feasible and even dangerous. A descent to Loch Muick and Spittal of Glen Muick and on to Tarfside would take an extra day I expect.

Am I missing a nice way to Glen Clova from Jock's Road that we could take under these circumstances? If not I have an alternative route going to Glen Gelder, Spittal of Glen Muick and on to Tarfside....

Thank you in advance!

The answer to your question is on page 10 of the Final Details sent to you by Challenge Control.

Take the turn off Jocks Road at NO229785 and go via the River South Esk

Re: Exit from Jock's Road to Glen Clova

Thank you so much, I had missed that entirely :smirk: ......

At a second look... I did see that in the Final Details but had missed the fact that a 'appears passable' route through the forest was shown. And that was my planned route from the beginning (Jock's Road, Munros and down to Bachnagairn and on along the River South Esk. So no changes necessary and very happy indeed.

Thanks again, wishing all a good crossing :sunglasses: !
