Re: power banks

The state of the art for power banks has not changed much in recent years. Backpackinglight.com (US) recently published some good work on the subject. I'll be carrying a 10,000 mAh Anker with short cables. Important how you use them; i.e., don't plug in and let things charge overnight (wastes energy), ensure you aren't carrying more battery than you really need, use quality cables, and of course keep your phone on airplane mode, dim the screen if you can, etc. I use my Pixel 3 as camera and navigation primarily, occasionally as an interface to my InReach Mini. So I usually need to charge it every 3+ days or so on the trail. 10,000 mAh is about right for most of my longer trips.

Re: power banks

Thanks very much. I need up upgrade so I'll go for that. Much obliged. Tony
