Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

Hi Kent
I usually find that Gordon doesn't reply, but you will hear from him before you set off for the Challenge in May. He will have your name and details on a list, don't worry, he will get you across the loch on time 🙂

Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

Ok, thanks Louise. That's somewhat comforting. I am checking on kayak rentals in Drumnadrochit, just in case. Or maybe we'll schlep our packrafts from Dornie, just in case...

Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

Sounds like fun 🤣🤣🤣

Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

Assuming we are on the list, where should we be at the (theoretical) appointed time? The website directs us to a car park. I see a few likely candidate piers on the aerial maps, but does anyone know exactly where we should hope to meet Gordon?

Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

Hi Kent, you should be at Temple pier at NH 529 299. It's a bit of a walk from the town, so don't dawdle :relaxed: .

Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

Good afternoon all, in the same position myself, haven’t heard a peep. Hope all ok, it’s a hell of a swim, “Nessy allowing of course “ 🤦‍♂️…

Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

You can also access Temple Pier from the north if you’re using part of the Great Glen Way. Practically drops you right at Temple Pier but, as Minna says, it’s a hike to Drumnadrochit if you are wanting to go there before the ‘ferry’. Some people have also arranged to get picked up at the castle south of Drum but I’m not sure if Gordon still does this.

Re: Gordon Menzies Loch Ness Crossing

I called the number on Gordon's (Castle Cruises) website - it puts you through to the gift shop where tickets are sold. The kind lady on the other end took my name and email address, but told me that Gordon doesn't start business again until April and that probably explains why there's been no reply to our emails.
