Storm Arwen

Just a heads up to anyone who hasn't been seeing the news lately or will be visiting from overseas, the terrific storm that passed through the NE of Scotland last Friday night/Saturday morning did an amazing amount of damage, lots of people are still without power or drinking water.

Obviously most things will have been cleared up by next May but be aware that if you are planning going through any forest in Aberdeenshire / Moray there is a chance that tracks, especially in areas a bit off the beaten track, may be blocked or diverted by fallen trees. The biggest risk at the moment is trees that have been uprooted but are currently hanging on other trees and could drop at any time. Hopefully most hanging trees will be dislodged by future winter storms, but even next summer you would be advised to keep your eyes peeled for anything overhead.
