Re: Nicola Lees

Hi,

Very sad news, indeed. I have very fond memories of both Bob and Nicola. I still appreciate the help I they gave both before and during one of my crossings.

May you rest in peace, Nicola.

Rolf

Re: Nicola Lees

Suus I'm saddened to read that Nicola has passed away after such a brave fight. I always enjoyed walking with her and Bob, they were a great couple. Bob being a stronger walker would sometimes walk ahead at his mighty pace and would get just far enough away so that he could still see Nicola behind him, then he would wait for her to catch up. May she rest in peace.

Re: Nicola Lees

Oh no!
Nicola was a lovely lady, I met her many times, along with her husband, the legendary Bob - who I first met on my introduction to the Challenge in 2004.
She'll probably be with Bob now - trying to make sure he behaves himself!
Nicola & Bob will be missed by the Challenge community, they don't make 'em like that anymore.

Thanks for letting us know Bert & Suus.

Re: Nicola Lees

Very sorry to hear this news. With Bob and Nicola we were four Tgoc virgins, starting out together from Mallaig in 1990 after sharing the Post Bus rail replacement service from Fort William. We were impressed to see Nicola striding off towards Sourlies with a bottle of fresh milk and a bag of eating apples clutched in her hand. I think the tgo crossing was the only backpacking that Nicola did and Bob looked after her very assiduously. Her spirit was tough though and she never let him down. RIP Nicola.
