Backpacking in the year 3 BC

We are missing seeing you all at the Challenge dinner tonight. Hope to meet you all on our next attempt.
Thought we would let you know that there was life before the Challenge(BC). Our first (English) coast-to-coast was in 1977. We used the same 43 year old sleeping bags from then in our virtual TGOC camp in our garden 2 weeks ago! Our reminiscences are here:-

thank you very much for this very enjoyable story! Wow, you remember quite a lot details!
Lovely to be reminded that there was a time before all this technical gear too.
