Re: Picturing your self there.

I crossed Loch Ness this evening and tonight will be having dinner with the Sutherlands. Tomorrow across the Monadhliath Mountains and to the Red Bothy on Thursday. Hopefully I will find someone to share a little Barbados Rum. I wish .............

Re: Picturing your self there.

I think I would be sharing a flat bit of ground near you last night William at Coignafeuinternich and I gather from previous posts that Graham Horsley would be there as well to help you with your wonderful rum.
Would be good to catch up again after sharing beer and food in Oban before the start last year.
I think you have the nicer weather in Barbados. :sunglasses:
Cheers

Re: Picturing your self there.

Hi All
Last night I would have been in Newtonmore with Tea and a bit of cake in the Hostel.
I tend to use the campsite in Newtonmore or outside the Hostel. A nice meal and a beer in the Glen. It would have been nice to catch up with other challengers.

Today would be a late start because its not that far to the Cairngorm Club bridge. Looking the weather forecast I would get drizzle and cloudy weather but no snow or cold temperatures at night.

Re: Picturing your self there.

Good stopover in Ballater, onto Glen Tanar and Tarfside on Tuesday for the usual excellent welcome and meet up.
Nearly over now just the long haul to NWB today and then a couple of hours to finish at Kinnaber for lunchtime tomorrow.
Into Montrose to control and another Tgoc completed.
First time I've not lost any weight

Re: Picturing your self there.

The last Wednesday is normally the peak time for big rucksacks, floppy hats and walking poles making their way past my gaff on their way to Stonehaven. You have all been missed and I look forward to seeing some of you in happier circumstances next year.

Re: Picturing your self there.

I should be in the Park Hotel Bar having a beer and meal, in my clean clothes that I posted ahead, before returning to my room for another shower and rest.

Re: Picturing your self there.

Friday Morning.
Having said my goodbyes to fellow challengers at the campsite, I will make my way to the Tesco beside the railway station for breakfast in the cafe. There I will bump into the same challengers again. Toast, fried egg, mushrooms, tomato beans and a sausage washed down with a pot of tea.
Over to the railway station for the next train north. More challengers hanging around, enjoying the sunshine and chatting. Have a chat will we wait. How did your walk go. What was your best bit.
Get onto the train. Heading back to real life and it feeling it would be nice to just head west without going home.
