Re: Buchaille Etive Mor

Thanks for that encouragement, Roger! I have a good record of finding interesting things to do in the calm of the kitchen on a winter's evening and then taking one look at it in May with a full pack and going "no way!" so I am unlikely to precipitate avalanches. I've had an interesting suggestion by private email from a veteran vetter about walking up the south side, but we'll see. I'm never as fit or as brave as I like to think I will be and have a good sense of self preservation.

Re: Buchaille Etive Mor

Hi Vanessa,

even without snow the top of Coire na Tulaich is quite steep and needs carefull balance with a big pack. I remember bouncing downward after loosing my balance - with a tiny daypack! - and hurting my knee, after a wonderfull scramble up Curved Ridge.

Enjoy your trip !

Re: Buchaille Etive Mor

Thanks, Theo. Very useful information for someone with slightly dodgy balance. The route has gone in but your info will inform my decision-making on the day.
