Rosie and I are probably starting from Oban again this year as we need a short crossing. At the moment we are looking at a big first day and crossing Loch Awe on the morning of the second day (Saturday). We have been in touch with Loch Awe boats who day they often help walkers across the Loch - anyone else interested in making the journey? Nothing definite yet but we know they can do it. Just opens up some opportunities for route planning.
