Moray Coast Trail

If anyone is planning to walk the Moray Coast Trail, the bridge at Lossiemouth NJ 237 704 is currently closed, is has been deemed dangerous. They have put in a diversion that is not yet up on the website, but is available on Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheMorayCouncil/status/1156868144440532992?s=19
For those without Twitter, the diversion follows the path on the south side of the river before following forestry path roughly NJ 246 692 to south of the water works meeting the minor road at Coral Peel, NJ 251 682. Not the nicest little road, take care. Rejoin the forestry paths by crossing Arthur's Bridge and along forestry track heading NE, continuing to rejoin the Moray Way. Not all paths marked on 1:50000, but are on 1:25000.
There is a possibility the bridge will be replaced before May, I understand the Royal Engineers (based at Kinloss Barracks) have been approached for help, but sometimes these things take a long time (think Glen Feshie!)

Re: Moray Coast Trail

I don't suppose that there is much chance that it will be fixed by May, but you never know...…https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-49567254

Re: Moray Coast Trail

Hadn't mentioned yet because it's the Scottish Government. Let's wait and see.
