Re: More pictures, yay!

Lovely piccies and a great story - who says you need words :grinning:

Re: More pictures, yay!

You have some nice shots there Sabine. Your first 4 days are almost exactly the same as on my 2004 Challenge but then I was the only challenger doing the Oban Lismore start and I didn't see another challenger until day 6 . It's interesting the way some routes rise and fall in popularity.

Re: More pictures, yay!

Great videos. I also watched your Iceland videos. Wow! What a trip.

Re: More pictures, yay!

I like your Iceland pictures too, the snow makes such a difference!

If you are interested in the .gpx files, just give me a shout.

Re: More pictures, yay!

I’m hoping to do a round Iceland trip next year.......in a coach :upside_down_face:

Re: More pictures, yay!

Thank you very much for your nice words!

And if you are interested in the lyrics to the German song, I tried to translate it (it sometimes doesn't really make sense in German either - but you can give it the meaning you like):

The Route to the Sea

who did plan you, want you
who has ordered and collected you
who has lost one's heart to you
why were you born
who gave birth to you

who did yearn for you
who did lean you against them

accepted you as you are
so that you lose your homesickness
so that you lose your homesickness

turn around, turn around
turn your back against the storm
you will reconcile, you will grant
you will free yourself for the yourney to the sea

who substitutes your programme
only who can fall can fly as well
who helps you to learn to grieve
not to become detached from yourself
not to become detached from yourself

turn around, turn around
forget your guilt, your vacuum
turn around the wind until it brings you
far away to the sea, you know where

turn around, turn around
turn your back against the storm
go resolved, reconciled, encouraged
having freed yourself
the route to the sea

having freed yourself
the route to the sea

....
