Etape Caledonia

As you may already know, the Etape Caledonia, which is a mass cycling event involving 5,000 riders, is taking place based in Pitlochry on Sunday 19th May, with event registration on Saturday 18th May.

There will be rolling road closures on the day of the event, which will affect the roads from Pitlochry to Tummel Bridge and the circuit of Loch Rannoch, returning via Aberfeldy.

I have been told that there is hardly any B&B accommodation left in Pitlochry and this may affect Blair Atholl as well.

Re: Etape Caledonia

I would have thought that most Challengers will be through there before that, but good to be forewarned!
I managed to book a tent site at the Blair Castle campsite for the night of Friday 17th and hope to eat at the pub that night - may need to book! Then will escape the hullabaloo on Saturda heading past Beinn a' Ghlo.

Re: Etape Caledonia - Loch Ranoch / Pitlochry / Aberfeldy - Sun 17 May 2020

This cycling event is taking place again in 2020.

The route and rolling road closures are shown on this webpage: https://www.etapecaledonia.co.uk/the-routes

I thought I had a lovely route between Loch Rannoch and Pitlochry but now I'm not so sure!
