Mallaig accommodation

Hi

It's my first time doing the TGOC and I'm planning to start from Mallaig and head across to Inverie on the ferry.

Has anyone got any accomodation Tips for Mallaig? Everything is quite pricey now.

Looking forward to meeting some of you on the journey!

Camping would be the easiest and cheapest option - we had a nice spot at roughly NM675965 a few years back.

On my first Challenge two years ago I stayed at the Mission Bunkhouse for 22 pounds. A nice place very close to the train station.

It might help to arrive in mallaig on Friday and sign out after 9am. But if you arrive on Thursday, head for the paths above courteachan, there are places to camp there - followed by breakfast in mallaig the next morning. Breakfast will probably mean fish and chips, being Friday
