Re: Train Tickets

Thanks to all. I will be arriving in Oban on the Wednesday evening and will spend 2 nights before the start.

After a long plane and train journey I need the extra rest before another crossing.

Re: Train Tickets

Hi William
You could split the tickets yourself by checking out the route details (I do this through the National Rail Enquiries website) and choosing a station your train stops at, buy a ticket to there then another ticket to complete that leg. Sometimes you even can stay on the same train although not on this occasion.
I've tried this for London Euston to Oban for Thurs 21st March so it can be compared to Phil's example and come up with the following.

London Euston 06.24 to Crewe 09.34 cost £9.00
Crewe 10.09 to Glasgow Central 13.15 cost £13.00
Glasgow Queens 16.36 to Oban 19.43 cost £10.50

Total cost of £32.50 a much better saving than the ticket splitting sites.
With this journey you obviously have a long stop over in Glasgow giving you time to socialise with the gathering hoards of Challengers.

Cheers
Chris
