Portavadie

Anyone else planning to start at Portavadie! Route planning is going ok but looking like some big days!

Also has anyone went from either Pitlochry or Dunkeld to Spittal of Glenshee? Not sure about battling through the plantations from Pitlochry looks fine once you get to the Cateran Trail.

Re: Portavadie

Yes, this has always been the problem with getting to Pitlochry - the day after! I just did the tarmac a few years ago to get to the Cateran Trail and onwards to the Spittal. Can't remember the road walking but the trail is nice and I've used it again since.

Someone needs to be brave and try a cross country route from Pitlochry - it could be you Scott!

Re: Portavadie

I’m currently planing (and I’ve still 3 days left to change my mind on going this way). If I can figure out how to get through the Loch Lomond NP and their wild camping ‘permit’ system (or a bit of ‘stealth’’ camping)...... I plan to head to Pitlochry. From there I intend to go through the plantations to Kirkmichael... There appears to be multiple routes through Kindrogan Woods and onward to the Spittal of Glenshee.......
