Re: Ben Hiant

Ey-up Mick!
I can't advise although the Pieman probably can, I'll give him a nudge.

Re: Ben Hiant

Contrary to suggestions put about by Mr Jocys, it was blowing a hoolie and chucking it down when I passed by, so I passed by on the path/route to the immediate North. It dodn;t look too hard, though. There's a bunch of reports on the ascent of Ben Hiant on www.hill-bagging.co.uk -- http://www.hill-bagging.co.uk/mountaindetails.php?qu=S&rf=1341. Have a look, you don't need to register and Ben Hiant is in Section 18 and has two outlying lumps which could be attractive. There's mention of a crag just under the summit which is avoided "on a good path". Looks a nice hill and worth doing if it's not blowing a hoolie and chucking it down.

Re: Ben Hiant

Yes, it's a nice hill with a good path up and the views are fantastic on a good day, but if it's really windy, best avoided.

Re: Ben Hiant

Thanks for info, was hoping approach from Kilchoan side to do something else in the afternoon.
Fingers crossed for balmy day.
