Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

Hey folks - hope you fine challenge folk are all fit and well.

I'm back on for 2019 and I am looking at Tomdoun for digs on day three but the last I can see is a post from Norman around this time last year which mentions it being closed, or at least "no more". Can anyone confirm?

Kingie looks a little scant of comfy lodgings too (well, other than the Kingie Lodge, and I'm not sure the budget will stretch).

Be lovely to hear back from you with a big list of delicious accomodation.... *coughs*.

Ta!

Carl.

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

The Tomdoun Hotel is no longer - now back where it started as a private house/lodge.

I believe that there is a place that does B&B a little further along the road (Alistair Pooler stayed there a while back) but I don't have details.

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

Thanks, Phil. I hoped it would have just been a temp closure.

Not to worry. I'll send Alistair a message.

Cheers!

Carl.

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

Aye, no more.....it was a funny old place when it was a hotel!

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

And I like funny old places, too. Cheers JJ. See you on the plod, hopefully.

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

I look forward to it Carl - lots to catch up!

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

Likewise, JJ. Been too long really.

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

Hi Carl,
In 2015 I stayed in a lovely B&B about 1 mile down the road from The Tomdoun at NH174017 called Curlew Cottage in Inchlahgan. The lady did a great evening meal too. However the husband was considerably older than her and his health was failing so they were talking about packing up the business shortly after me being there. It may be worth a try though in case she's started up again. Tel 01809511275
Good luck

Re: Tomdoun Hotel... still no more?

Thanks, Sue.

That's worth a try.

Carl
